Siena

Students’ reflections

This week spent in Siena was one of my favorites of my life. I’ve not only met many amazing people, who I hope to keep in touch with, seen such beautiful places, but also learnt a lot about different cultures and about renewable energy sources. All of the memories will definitely stay with me forever. /Martyna Czekajewicz/

Taking part in the exchange was an ideal opportunity to get to know people coming from different parts of Europe. I also had the chance to see beautiful places in Italy, as well as to explore Italian culture and cuisine. The exchange helped me understand the issue of renewable energy better, which is significant, concerning environmental matters. /Agata Kurek/

For me the whole project was an unforgettable experience. I met a lot of amazing people, learnt things I had no idea about before. The city itself was beautiful and full of medieval history, I could really feel its vibe. This trip was not only a chance for me to integrate with participants from other countries, but surprisingly, also with students from my school who I haven’t known before, but who turned out to be great people. But when it comes to international relationships – I found out that despite many obstacles, like language barriers and cultural variance, in reality we don’t differ that much. Sometimes, to be honest, it felt like I was actually talking to someone from my environment in Poland. Sometimes we forgot some words in English and had to improvise though. But we always managed to get along with each other!! /Aleksandra Rudolf/

The exchange in Italy was an unforgettable experience. I met a lot of great people with whom I made many memories that will stay with me for life. I learned a lot about Italy and other countries’ cultures. The atmosphere was wonderful, everyone was very nice and friendly.  I also improved my English skills a lot. /Magdalena Janota/

For me, this project was some sort of a challenge. It was breaking the monotonic routine and getting out of my comfort zone. I’ve experienced things that wouldn’t be possible to experience in any different circumstances. I’m really glad I had a chance to participate in the exchange, meet new people, visit all of those beautiful places and learn a lot about renewable energy sources. And even though it was only a few days, the memories will stay forever. /Paulina Katolik/

For me Erasmus “iGo Eco – Respect and Care about the Earth” was a true adventure. I experienced the whole gamut of emotions. I felt happy singing Polish songs to others and I’ll never forget how delicious the food was. All the cities we have visited – Siena, Florence and Rome – were so beautiful that it seemed not real. And I smile when I think about all crazy stuff we did there and all the amazing people I’ve met 🙂 /Nikola Kulig/

Laia:
I am very grateful to have been able to participate in this amazing experience. Besides learning and becoming aware of the functions of renewable energies, I have practised my English a lot. One of the best things was having the opportunity to meet wonderful people from different countries. I highly recommend the experience and I would definitely repeat it again.

Inés:
This experience has been such a great opportunity to learn about an important topic such as renewable energies in different countries of Europe. Furthermore, I have practised my English and met amazing people. It was a really nice week, and we are all looking forward to seeing each other again! I would repeat the experience without a doubt!

Clara:
This has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, I got to meet so many new people from other countries I’ve never been to, and they gave me insight into their cultures, as well as some long-lasting friendships. It was a fantastic opportunity to practice my English-speaking skills with the other students, and the numerous environment-related activities gave me some technical knowledge and more vocabulary. Overall an amazing experience that made me learn so much as well as have fun and meet people from all around Europe. I’ll be forever grateful!

Simó:
This trip was an amazing experience, it was so useful for practising English and getting to know new people. All the renewable energies presentations, the dynamics with the other groups and all the activities were great and fun. I enjoyed every day with my friends and the new people that we have met. I liked Siena and the Italian partners, I also loved Florence, it was beautiful and so impressive. I’m very grateful for the kindness of the teachers and students from each country. I would definitely repeat this experience!

Christian:
I’m very glad to have lived through an experience like this one, because I’ve learnt a lot of other cultures, I could improve my level of English and learn more about renewable energies. I loved Siena and the guys who were with us, they were very friendly and kind, I think I will never forget this experience. I like the trips and excursions that we had, I love Florence and their history. I would repeat this experience for sure!

Mar:
I was very lucky to participate in this experience. Firstly, I was a little nervous because I didn’t know how to communicate with the other students, but finally I got confidence and I practiced my English and I learned a lot. The people who participated in the erasmus are so friendly and gentle. Also, I love visiting Siena and Florence, I fell in love with those cities. I will always remember this experience. I am quite happy to be part of this family!

Though I have always loved travelling tremendously, I can say that I love the Erasmus projects even more – for they mean more than just travelling, more than just seeing beautiful sights, visiting historical monuments, strolling through the streets of foreign cities. Erasmus projects are firstly about learning and cultural connections, friendships and photos and memories of people you are sure to never see again, which you nevertheless become fond of in just one week. Hence, Siena and the people I met there will always have a place in my heart: all the group projects and the games and the singing and the dancing and the laughing and the eating together and the telling of stories and the trip to Florence and the one to Larderello and the hugs and the pictures… and I could go on and on, for I loved every minute of it. I wish I could just go back and live it all over again 🙂 (Teodora Smîntancă-Strugariu)

This was my first Erasmus + project and I had the greatest time of my life. This was an amazing experience and I wish it had never ended. I loved the city of Siena and how warm and welcoming the Italians were. The workshops were very well organized and they definitely achieved their goals. The trips were a very good chance to bond our connections with the others and spend some more quality time with them. I have learned a lot of traditions and I hope they did too. My favorite moments were when we were all dancing and singing and having fun. I fell in love with the views of Italy and their culture, as much as the other nationalities. I learned and created a project about green energy with my team, in which we had a really wonderful time. I think that this experience was as lovely as mine for everyone and hopefully we will see each other one day and remember those beautiful days we had in Erasmus. (Gabriela Poiată)

I never thought I would go through such an experience because it seemed rather out of the realm of the fantastic, but, as it turns out, it is not that impossible to achieve. And here I am, trying to embrace and crowd all the memories, friendships, laughter, visits, quirks and all the beautiful people in just a few lines. I’ve learned so much about green energy, Italy, people, cultures, about myself and how valuable people and time are, especially when I probably won’t experience this and I won’t see them again, even though I feel so close to them (curious thing that the things we value the most end so quickly that we cannot really feel them happening). Cultures, landscapes, Larderello, Florence and Siena were the perfect background for this fantastic experience that will stay in my mind for a long time from now. I encourage everyone to give Erasmus a try because I promise you, it won’t let you down. I will not forget you. I love everything that happened and maybe we’ll see each other again someday, in the near future. XOXO (Valentina Mădălina Cernic)

It was the most pleasant and unforgettable experience, from which I learned a lot of new things. Firstly, I had the opportunity to meet new people from different cultures and to understand their way of living. This mobility in Siena also taught me many things about Italy and the importance of renewable energy. I found out that we have to be more careful about the way we treat our planet and I think that  one of the main purposes of  this project was  to understand how to use out natural resources in order to create green and clean energy.  It gave a new perspective on the world around me, explaining more ways in saving our planet. I had the chance to practice my English skills and make new friends from 5 different countries.  Besides these, I also visited a lot of interesting  places, full of history which made me feel like I was in the medieval period.  I wish I had  stayed in Siena for a longer time, because it felt like time had stopped for a week and I am sure these memories will remain with me for life. (Anamaria Petrica)

What amazed me most about this Erasmus+ experience is the amount of awesome activities we had in just five days: presentations, learning about renewable energy straight from professionals, meeting people from around Europe, visiting and living the Italian lifestyle. I left from there not just with new information and ideas, but also with new perspectives, and above all, I left knowing that I made friendships that will break any distance barrier. For me personally, the highlight of this project were the evenings spent with the whole group socializing, singing, dancing, and just being present. Let’s not forget to mention when we practiced a traditional Romanian dance with everyone – the excitement went through the roof! Every little thing was 100% worth it. It was a week packed with all the ingredients you need for the perfect first Erasmus+ journey! (Antonia Gabriela Căruceru)

It was cool to be the host of this Erasmus trip and to show to these guys which came in Siena the beautiful city where I live. Even if I didn’t participate all the days, I think we all had fun together. Thanks for the experience!  /Samuele Coppi/

I-Go Eco Erasmus allowed me to meet many new people from cultures different from mine. Thanks to it I learned new things about renewable energies and how to use them in our life. Furthermore, I was also able to see how this green energy is produced during the visit to Larderello. During this experience, I had the opportunity to make new friends and test my English. I hope to keep in touch with all of them and to see them again.     /Giulia Bianciardi/

Erasmus+ has allowed me to relive another great experience, meeting and knowing people of different nationalities who have transmitted to me all their cultures and traditions. I learned a lot about renewable energy and how to use it and I was able to improve and test my level of English even more. I hope to stay in touch with the guys I met and see them again. /Gaia Ceccherini/

Firstly, i want to thank everyone who did something on this project. It was an amazing opportunity for us to improve our english, improve our knowledge about environment and renewable energy sources. The people in Siena were all so kind, helpful and friendly. We had a great time in there, we saw the city’s beautiful historical sites and we ate amazing food. The project was so nice that we will always remember.

The week that I spent in Siena was one of the bests in my life. Such an amazing experience and so friendly people that I will never forget! I loved every place that we visited. Through this exchange I gain so much and I could not be more grateful for being a part of it. /Eleftheria Benaki/

I left from Italy with so many bright memories. Erasmus is indeed a unique experience that I will always keep close to my heart. I’m so glad for having met so many kind people and for having learned a lot of interesting things about the city,  the culture and the renewable sources of energy. I really enjoyed this week and I’m so grateful for having been given the opportunity to participate in this program. /Dafni Komi/

Visiting sienna is equivalent to visiting a medieval city with a touch of modernism. Its’ beautiful architecture left me speechless. The schools in sienna as well were huge and well-equipped and the students there knew the history of the city by heart and opened our horizons to it. I had quite the experience and I’m so glad that I met such amazing people from other countries. The activities were well organized for us to learn more about renewable energy. I’m very grateful to have been able to participate in this exchange and I look forward to visiting sienna again in the future. /Erma Xhema/
